It starts in the gut

I believe that good digestion is imperative for healing any ailment in the body. A well-functioning gut with healthy gut flora is the root of good health. Just as a tree with sick roots will never thrive, the body will never flourish without a healthy digestive system. And like the soil that surrounds the roots of the tree, our gut flora provide nourishment, protection, and support to the entire body.

Through my one-on-one consults, I focus on getting your roots in good working order before moving on to the rest of the body.  We build your health from the ground up to create lasting, long-term benefits.

Start small before taking out the big guns

I believe in using mild medicine like food and herbs before moving onto stronger forms of medicine like supplements and medications. The healthiest body is a body that can bring itself into balance and maintain this balance with gentle support.  Of course sometimes we need stronger interventions like supplements if we’ve been sick for a long time or have a serious condition.

So often in natural medicine, people are looking for a magic bullet such as a pill with a little green coat on it to fix everything. While I can’t offer that solution (since it doesn’t exist!), I can ensure you that you will feel better with a few simple, but impactful changes.

You are your own best health detective

You know more about your body than anyone, you just may not know it yet. So often we dismiss things like headaches, aches and pains, and a sniffy nose as just a random act of the body. In my programs, I teach you how to read and interpret the messages your body is sending you, what they mean, and how to address them.

Life is to be lived! Enjoy food!

Overly restrictive diets suck. I know, I’ve been there. I love to eat and I live a busy life. I know that avoiding certain foods is difficult and makes things less fun. While you may have to avoid certain foods for a period of time to properly heal, I’ll help you get to a point where you are not overly reactive to the foods you enjoy!

We all have our own preferences, habits, and skills. I spend a good amount of time getting to know you, your eating habits, and your motivations. From there I create a bio-individualized program that contains practical tips and tricks suitable to your lifestyle. Whether you are ready for many big changes or prefer to start with one small change, I am with you every step of the way. You’ve got this!
