Edible and Medicinal Herb Walks

I’ve been leading herb walks for over a decade! There is food and medicine all around you. In my herb walks, you will learn how to identify common edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms in your own yard or neighbourhood. I offer private and group walks (within 40 min drive from Ottawa).

Some things you will learn:

  • plant identification and a little botany
  • plant history
  • ethical harvesting, when and how to harvest
  • using your senses to help understand medicinal plant actions
  • what parts to eat and how best to prepare them
  • medicinal uses of each plant and the best form to take it in
Plant walks usually last at least 1.5 hours, but can be any length and integrated with a hands-on activity.
